Abstract

The general research objective is to identify and describe the quality management of speaking skills in English language learning at Islamic boarding schools. In particular, this research is to find out and analyze: Syllabus and lesson plans, quality improvement strategies, implementation of quality improvement strategies, evaluation of strategy implementation, obstacles in strategy implementation. The research approach is qualitative with descriptive method. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The theory used is from According to G.R. Terry (2014), Deming (1986), and Usman (2012). The general results of the research are that the management of learning English at Islamic Boarding School High School on the strategy of improving the quality of speaking skills has been running in accordance with the principles of English learning management and the value system of logical, teleological, aesthetic value systems. , and ethics. In particular: (1) The Planning for learning English speaking skills compiled are in accordance with the concepts and preparation of syllabi and lesson plans, and even according to a logical and teleological value system. However, there are still some that are not in accordance with the aesthetic value system, namely because the syllabi and lesson plans do not yet have a standard format, (2) The strategy for improving the quality of learning English speaking skills compiled turns out to be in accordance with the concept and preparation of the strategy even in accordance with the aesthetic value system. However, there are still some that are not in accordance with the Physical-physiological value system, (3) The implementation of the strategy to improve the quality of learning English speaking skills compiled turns out to be in accordance with the concept of implementation and even in accordance with the system. ethical values. However, there are still some that are not in accordance with the hical value system, (5) Obstacles in the implementation of strategies to improve the quality of learning English speaking skills compiled are obstacles from human resources, learning facilities, learning media, and costs, and (6) Innovative efforts made to improve the quality of English speaking skills compiled are Super camp and English E-learning has been well implemented.The conclusions on this study that English speaking skill learning management of Boarding school at SMA Nahdatul Wathan Bogor and SMA Islam Azzhahiriyah Bekasi has been implemented with various approaches but the results have not been affective.
