Abstract

This study aimed to examine the willingness of Sri Lankan users to adopt mobile payment systems using Quick Response (QR) codes, given the widespread use of mobile devices in Sri Lanka. The research surveyed 457 participants and used the UTAUT2 model to determine the most significant factors influencing users' intention to use QR code payments, their perceived satisfaction with the system, and their willingness to recommend it. The study found that ease of use, perceived usefulness, and attitude towards the system had a positive impact on users' intention to use QR code payments, while perceived risk and innovation had a negative impact. It also found that stress to use and social influence had an effect on users' perceived satisfaction and willingness to recommend the system. Overall, the study provides valuable insights into the acceptance of QR code payment systems in Sri Lanka and suggests that future research could examine
