Abstract

The implementation of total quality management in hospitals can be achieved only if the principles have been applied to quality improvement and patient safety programs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the implementation of total quality management (TQM) on the competitiveness in hospitals. Finally, regarding total quality management in hospitals, it can be concluded that the application system of total quality management in hospitals has a quality standard in service for the future, namely patient satisfaction. One way to assess patient satisfaction can be measured through contact advice and conducting training to improve service quality standards for every health worker who will provide services. Indeed, to improve the quality of health in hospitals, scientific approaches are needed such as the concepts of total quality management or integrated quality management.
