At the end of October Versita organized two events in Russia, one in Moscow,
the other in Saint Petersburg, presenting the world's leading solutions for
online editing, publishing and distribution, which are marketed in Central and
Eastern Europe by Versita: MetaPress, Editorial
Manager and a global e-book distribution program. At the conferences Versita
also presented its offer for high quality journals to be co-published by Versita
and our new partner for Eastern Europe, De
Gruyter. In total almost 200 people took part in the events.
MetaPress is the leading solution for online
hosting and distribution of scientific journals, used by about 3,200 journals
from 230 publishers, including such well known as Springer. Versita already
provides MetaPress solution to about 150
journals. Editorial Manager (product
of Aries Systems) is the global leader
among systems for online submission and tracking of manuscripts for scientific
journals. It is used by over 3,400 journals from many publishers, including
Elsevier and Springer . De

SpringerWienNewYork and Versita strengthen their journal co-publishing partnership in Central European countries. The companies have signed an agreement on the distribution, marketing, and sales of the best quality STM journals of Central European societies and other institutions. This partnership expands the existing long-term cooperation between Springer and Versita. It combines Springer’s extensive international marketing and distribution system with Versita’s excellent relationships with scholars and scientific institutions in Central European countries. The goal of the SpringerWienNewYork/Versita partnership is to support the global dissemination of Central European research results.

The company is also a trusted provider of local-language professional publications in Europe, especially in Germany and the Netherlands. Polish Academy of Sciences has entered an agreement with Versita that sets the terms on which the journals of the Academy can be published by Versita, in co-operation with Springer. Versita is Springer's strategic partner in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland. The Polish Academy of Sciences will encourage the editors of the journals and the management of the Academy units to take advantage of this opportunity.

Professor Ludwig Faddeev , a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Central European Journal of Mathematics, jointly with Professor Vladimir Arnold, have been awarded The Shaw Prize 2008 in Mathematical Sciences for their widespread and influential contributions to Mathematical Physics.

Under terms of the agreement, Versita will aggregate English language e-books published by Central and Eastern European publishers and offer them to ebrary for distribution, under both subscription and purchase models. ebrary's global customer base includes thousands of libraries and other organizations, serving more than 12.5 million end-users.
